Teacher Appreciation Banners – St. Catherine's School

Large Format · Print · Annual Tradition · Volunteer

Designed once. Beloved enough to become a school tradition. Displayed annually for National Teacher Appreciation Week.

The Project

Good design, when it truly fits its audience and moment, doesn't just work—it sticks. The Teacher Appreciation banners Jamie designed for St. Catherine's School are proof. Created for National Teacher Appreciation Week, the large-format banners were printed and displayed outside on campus. They were so well received that they came back the following year.

This project required a completely different design sensibility than the LCLD event work. Where national leadership programs call for sophisticated, high-contrast systems designed to impress attorneys at the top of their field, a school community calls for warmth, joy, and accessibility. The aesthetic had to speak to teachers, students, and parents alike: celebratory without being juvenile, personal without being generic.

The fact that these banners were brought back is the clearest possible measure of success. The community didn't just receive them; they claimed them.
